Bulgaria is working together with the EU on the topic related to the future of Bulgaria’s coal industry, this country’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said at a round table in Sofia dedicated to the coal regions in transition. Bulgaria is a net exporter of electricity in a region where other countries are not in the same position and rely on electricity supplies from this country. The position of the Bulgarian cabinet that in the next decade this country will rely on electricity from coal power plants has not changed and it officially informed the European Commission about its position, Minister Petkova pointed out in her speech during the forum.
