Excessive smoking, alcohol consumption and unhealthy nutrition lead to high mortality rates in Bulgaria, a report of the European Commission reads. Primary health prevention is poor and leads to high levels of preventable mortality-the fourth biggest in the EU. The Bulgarian health system relies equally on private and budget funding.
