We are convinced in Interpol’s key role in global security. We continue our active and fruitful cooperation with determination, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov said at a meeting with the Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock who is paying a visit to Bulgaria on occasion of the 30th anniversary since the renewal of Bulgaria’s membership in that organization. Premier Borissov assessed highly the trainings in Bulgaria financed by Interpol. In 2019, three trainings focusing on human trafficking in the Balkan region, handling stolen weapons database and combating vehicle crime, were held. Bulgaria was a member of Interpol between 1923 and 1958. Its membership was renewed within the frameworks of the 58th General Assembly of Interpol on November 27, 1989.
