Today, December 23, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Naum of Ohrid, the Wonderworker. He participated in the Moravian Mission of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius. He is also considered one of the most inspired organizers of the Preslav Literary School (886-893) in Bulgaria. In 905 he built his own monastery, known today as Saint Naum Monastery where he was buried in 910.
On this date, the names of Biser, Bisera, Biserka, Bistra, and Naum are celebrated in Bulgaria.
