Bulgaria’s Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov detained for 24 hours

Bulgaria’s Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov has been detained for 24 hours, the Prosecutor’s Office has announced. Earlier, Minister Dimov was interrogated for several hours by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office. Searches were held in the Ministry of Environment and Water in connection with the water crisis in Pernik and the import of waste, mainly from Italy to Bulgaria. Neno Dimov was taken from the building of the Environment Ministry with a vehicle of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office. I am providing assistance to the investigation, Minister Dimov said before he went inside the vehicle. Premier Boyko Borissov said that Minister Dimov’s resignation will be discussed at a coalition council.
