Nuclear power will provide us with security in the transition to low-carbon economy, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said at a meeting with a delegation of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) led by Nobuhiro Muroya, Deputy Director General at OECD Nuclear Energy Agency. The energy experts visited Bulgaria to become acquainted with the fulfillment of the national policy for safe use of nuclear energy in relation with Bulgaria’s candidature to become member of the Nuclear Energy Agency. Minister Petkova acquainted the guests with Bulgaria’s long experience in the nuclear power engineering and the possibility for construction of a second nuclear power plant-the Belene NPP.
