Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu pays visit to Bulgaria

The Foreign Ministers of Bulgaria and Turkey – Ekaterina Zaharieva and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu are to discuss, in Sofia today, bilateral relations and cooperation in security and combatting illegal migration, partnership within NATO and other international organizations, EU-Turkey relations.

This is the first official visit by a Turkish foreign minister to Bulgaria since 2014, and it comes at a time of an upward trend in the relations between the two countries. Turkey is in 4th position in Bulgaria’s exports after Germany, Italy and Romania, and in 5th position in imports after Germany, Russia, Italy and Romania.
