An online platform presenting job vacancy notices is available to Bulgarian expats returning to the country who want to start their life over. Guide to Bulgaria also offers advice on how to obtain the papers needed, on health rights and insurance etc.
At the presentation of the platform, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva stated that a new network of the National Employment Agency website is to be made operational as of 1 April to bring together information from all employment agencies in the countries of the EU. Under the package (bnr.bg/en/post/101218731/social-package-to-encourage-expats-living-in-eu-to-return-to-bulgaria), launched by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy aimed to encourage Bulgarian expats to return to the country, workers with a signed contract with an employer in Bulgaria will be entitled to a sum covering their rent over a period of 12 months plus other benefits. Family members who do not speak Bulgarian will be entitled to vouchers for Bulgarian language training to help their integration.
Amendments will be made to the labour code, by the beginning of April, to ensure flexibility for the young people, Minister Sacheva added. Online labour exchanges are to be developed where employers will be able to meet job seekers – both Bulgarian and foreign nationals.
According to a survey involving more than 4,600 people, more than 50 percent of Bulgarian expats are considering a return home. However, 40 percent of them are finding it difficult to find the information necessary for making up their minds.
