Drop in enrollment in British universities from Bulgaria

1,710 application papers to British universities have been submitted from Bulgaria for the 2020/2021 academic year, in 2019 their number was 1,900.

Admission requirements, tuition fees and student loans in Great Britain will remain unchanged until the end of the period of transition – 31 December, 2020. The tuition fee at British universities as of September 2020 remains - £ 9,250. Students from Bulgaria are given settled status for which they have to have registered by 30 June, 2021. With a European Health Insurance Card students from the EU who have started their studies prior to 31 January, 2020 will have access to free health care. There may be changes in student admission as of 2021 but what will be negotiated in the agreement between the UK and the EU is as yet unclear.
