Deputy Economy Minister Liliya Ivanova met with Pascal Claudel, Chief Operating Officer of the European Global Navigation Satellite System Agency.

The two discussed options for Bulgaria’s involvement in European space programmes – for satellite coverage and global positioning. Pascal Claudel also discussed, with institutional, academic and business representatives, ways Bulgaria can become more actively involved in the EU’s space programmes. Discussions also focused on how to establish the Bulgarian areas of usefulness in the future EU consortium for the development of the space sector.

Knowledge of the space programmes and the data they provide needs to be improved. The data bring high added value, swift innovation development and new institutional opportunities, Deputy Minister Ivanova said.
