Another 5,000 Bulgarian university students will be able to fly across the Atlantic this summer, US Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa said at a ceremony at the embassy where she handed over the visas to the first approved participants in this year's US Work and Travel Program. The ceremony marked the beginning of this year's campaign under this program. "This is an excellent opportunity for Bulgarian students to visit the United States, to have the opportunity to practice and improve their English language skills, to get to know the culture of America, and of course, not least important, to earn a little extra money, and then to they use it during their further study in Bulgaria, " said Herro Mustafa.

The US ambassador also recalled that the US summer Work and Travel program began in 2000, with over 100,000 Bulgarian students having already participated in it.
