Sofia Prosecutor's Office has accused in absentia three Russian citizens of attempting to murder Bulgarian arms dealer Emilian Gebrev. The three persons Sergei Viktorovich Pavlov, Sergei Vyacheslavovich Fedotov and Georgi Gorshkov acted in the period April 28 - May 4, 2015 using methods life-threatening to many. The investigation found that they had never traveled abroad with their real names. They used various international passports with false identity.

Investigators have also collected data on another four previous attempted assassinations against Emilian Gebrev. It was found that two of these attempts were made outside the borders of Bulgaria as Emilian Gebrev has not reported about them.
