Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov (L) and his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis (R)

Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis have ascertained in a phone conversation that immediate diplomatic steps were needed to stop the migrant flow from Turkey. In Premier Borissov’s view, a long-term solution to the migrant problem, the humanitarian crisis and the war in Syria is necessary. Before his meeting in Ankara on Monday with Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan Boyko Borissov spoke on the phone with the EC President Ursula von der Leyen, as well as with the Chancellors of Germany and Austria Angela Merkel and Sebastian Kurz. Premier Borissov insisted that Turkey should receive help from the EU to deal with the migrant crisis. The French President Emmanuel Macron voiced on Twitter his solidarity and firm support for Greece and Bulgaria during the migrant crisis along the borders with Turkey.
