All centers for transfusion hematology in Bulgaria are alarmed by the significant drop in the number of blood donors. In Sofia alone, in the period March 1 to March 15, the number of blood donors dropped by nearly 600 people - 1,138 people compared to the same period in 2019 when blood donors were 1,739.
