90% of Bulgarian school-goers involved in distance learning

90% of school-goers and 96% of schools in Bulgaria are now involved in distance learning, according to Ministry of Education and Science data.

Extending the school year is not inevitable and depends on how long the crisis measures due to the coronavirus epidemic will be in place, Education Minister Krasimir Valchev said in an interview for the BNR. Many of the classes from the curriculum are currently taking place digitally, with success, but there are some which cannot be conducted. Asked how things stand with regard to applying to higher educational establishments, Minister Valchev stated that there will certainly be a coordinated decision at a European level.
