European Commission approves acquisition of VIVACOM by United Group

The European Commission has approved the acquisition of the Bulgarian Telecom Operator Viva Telecom Bulgaria and its subsidiary Bulgarian Telecommunications Company by the Dutch United Group BV. According to the EC, the deal complies with the EU merger regulation. The acquisition does not threaten market competition, including in sectors for Pay TV services and mobile and fixed telecommunication services, the decision of the Commission reads.
