Sowing of spring crops begins despite coronavirus

The sowing of spring crops has begun in Dobrich region with all measures against coronavirus being observed.

Sunflower is being sown on a mass scale, the planting of maize is to begin within a week.

 In 2019, 71,700 hectares in the region were planted with sunflower and 91,800 with maize. Dobrich region is traditionally one of the biggest producers of oil seeds and feed grain in the country. Grain growers are hoping the spring rains will improve soil moisture.
