Despite the emergency measures, people in Rakovski are getting ready for the Catholic Easter. For the first time the celebrations of Easter, which this year falls on 11-12 April will be taking place with restrictions, said Father Rumen, priest at the St. Archangel Michael church. He added that he hoped that if the liturgy takes place out in the open believers will come to attend.

The biggest catholic community in the country – 13,000 people – is in Rakovski municipality. There are smaller communities in and around Plovdiv – Belozem, and the villages around Hyssarya and Belene.
