Prosecutor’s office investigates political leader for incitement to violation of measures to contain Covid-19

The prosecutor’s office in Sofia has announced that pre-litigation proceedings for incitement to violation of the measures aimed at containing Covid-19 have been initiated against a municipal councilor and leader of a political party with the initials V. S., the initials of Volen Siderov, leader of Ataka party.

In a TV interview on 12 April, the politician repeatedly called for the violation of the health minister’s order in connection with the novel coronavirus pandemic. Siderov made similar appeals in a press release entitled: “Come out at Easter in a body and prove that God is above Mutafchiyski!”, referring to the head of the National Crisis Staff.
