Volen Siderov, leader of Ataka nationalist party and Sofia municipality councilor, has been detained for 24 hours.

He was detained in connection with an investigation over his appeal to the Bulgarian public to come out at Easter in a body and go to church without face masks on. A nationwide search warrant was issued for Volen Siderov earlier today when he failed to appear after being subpoenaed for an indictment. The Ataka leader is accused of incitement to violation of the measures for containing Covid-19. The charge carries a 5-year prison sentence.
