Sofia with highest number of Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria

A record 48 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in the past 24 hours in Bulgaria. 27 of the newly infected patients are hospitalized. The increase from yesterday, when the new cases were 40, is 6.5%. The total number of those registered with Covid-19 has now reached 783. A total of 218 persons are hospitalized.

In Sofia, the new cases are 32. Thus, Sofia is emerging as the most intense spot of the Covid-19 outbreak in Bulgaria. The other new cases are in 7 in Smolyan and 1 case in Kyustendil, Sliven, Plovdiv, Kardzhali, Burgas, Vidin, Gabrovo, Veliko Turnovo, Dobrich each.
The death toll is now 37, as a 70-year-old man died in Sofia's Pirogov hospital during the night.
 At present, another 17 people have been cured. The total number of recovered patients is now 122, or 15,6%.
The Chief of the National Crisis Staff, Gen. Ventsislav Mutafchiysky, has urged citizens not to travel during the Easter holidays so as not to cause a massive boom in the disease across the country.
