Bulgaria remains 111th among 180 countries in the media freedom report of the Reporters Without Borders non-governmental organization.

The report shows that the media situation in Bulgaria has not improved despite great international pressure. The attempts to temporarily remove Sylvia Velikova from the BNR broadcast and to force journalists from Nova TV to leave have been pointed out. The report reads also that the editorial policy of the Bulgarian National Television has changed from neutral to pro-governmental. In the ranking Bulgaria remains last among EU Member States.
