21 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,632 by 8.00 am local time on May 4, the National Crisis Headquarters announced. 21 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection were reported in the past 24 hours. 6 people in Sofia, 5 in Pleven, 5 in Pazardzhik, 2 in Plovdiv, 1 in Blagoevgrad, 1 in Vratsa and 1 in Smolyan tested positive for Covid-19. Another medic was diagnosed with Covid-19 in Sofia. Two people became victims of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

The analysis of the weekly morbidity and mortality shows that between April 13 and 19 a total of 329 cases of Covid-19 were registered in Bulgaria. 433 Covid-19 cases were reported from April 20 until April 26 and 284 cases of Covid-19 were registered between April 27 and May 3. The peak of the infection was between April 20 and 26. The mortality rate remains relatively constant. A slight increase was registered in the past week when 15 Covid-19 deaths were reported, whereas 11 people became victims of Covid-19 in the previous week.
