The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairshas informed Bulgarian National TV that they have not been officially notified by the Turkish side of the establishment of a prohibited second degree military zone in close proximity to the Bulgaria-Turkey border.
The decision by Turkish President Recep Erdogan to declare a military zone was published on 28 May in Turkey’s official gazette. The Foreign Ministry comments that this is a sovereign decision by Turkey and does not affect bilateral arrangements with Bulgaria.
