Bulgaria will be able to use a special safety and hygiene stamp of the The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism informs. The specialy designed Safe Travels stamp allows travellers to recognize destinations, vehicles, places of acomodation and catering establishments applying high standards of safety and hygiene.
The World Travel & Tourism Council starts the initiative in connection with the measures against Covid-19 and included the stamps in its safe travel protocols which provide information and guidance for tourism service providers, as well as information and guidance for tourists in terms of hyginene, disinfection and physical distancing. The aim is to develop meaningful action plans that optimise sector-wide recovery efforts. The documents will be updated in case of a change in the epidemiological situation.
“The stamp is vital to restoring consumer confidence worldwide, so that passengers can be sure that there are enhanced hygiene standards and they can travel safely”, Gloria Guevara, President and CEO of WTTC commented.
The instructions prepared by the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism about the accomodation facilities and catering establishments comply with the protocols issued by WTTC, which makes Bulgaria part of this initiative. It is also supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), etc, the annoncement of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism reads.
The website of the World Travel and Tourism Council published a statement of Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova: “Tourism is a cause which guarantees a better future for all of us. Together, we can solve crises and overcome challenges. We welcome the safe travel initiative of WTTC which would help the tourism sector recover quickly after the Covid-19 pandemic and restore traveller confidence.”
