Bulgarian letters will adorn one of the busiest tourist places in Berlin near the shores of Spree River next to the Berlin Cathedral and the Museum Island. The art installation is a Bulgarian greeting for the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union which begins on July 1.

“The Bulgarian Letters” presents the 14 letters in Cyrillic without a graphic equivalent in the Latin alphabet- Б, Д, Ж, З, И, Й, Ц, Ч, Ш, Щ, Ъ, ь, Ю, Я.

Made as original benches, the letters were placed in 2018 in Sofia under the name “The Hidden Letters”. The project paid a visit to Paris in the summer of 2019 and to Rabat, Morocco, at the end of last year.

Verses in German, French and English from 28 Bulgarian poets are written on each bench.
