Bulgaria imposes restrictions to wild camping

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria upheld amendments to the Law on the Structure of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, which envisage restrictions to wild camping. The legal provisions must be followed by an ordinance, whose adoption was postponed for August. The fines for wild camping will take effect one year after the ordinance is approved.

The law allows for the establisment of camping sites. The question is whether there is a place to set up these campsites, Lyuba Batemberg from the civil initiative Save Karadere told the Bulgarian National Radio. Camping is becoming increasingly popular and the few campsites on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast are overcrowded, Lyuba Batemberg pointed out.
