At a ceremony in Sofia Tech Park, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov turned the first sod of the building in which the Bulgarian supercomputer will be located. Bulgaria is among the eight EU countries that will have a European supercomputer. This will give a huge boost to the development of medicine, pharmacy, science, innovation and the automotive clusters, Bulgaria’s Premier said further and thanked the European Commission for the project. Boyko Borissov reminded that Bulgaria has competed with all EU countries to attract this investment. The supercomputer is expected to start functioning by the end of February, 2021.
