Number of gas-powered cars and electric cars in Bulgaria increases by 50%

At the end of June the number of gas-powered cars and electric cars in Bulgaria increased by 50% as compared to the same month last year, data of Bulgaria’s Traffic Police show. The number of gas-powered cars increased with 51%- from 103,669 to 305,960. Their number is expected to continue rising by the end of 2020, because the deadline for registration of cars equipped with natural gas fuel systems was extended until November. The number of electric vehicles increased 57% to 1,493. The number of newly-registered electric cars amounts to 544. The number of hybrid models increased with 2,989 to 9,817, which is 43.77% increase. There are 1,319,985 diesel-powered cars in Bulgaria, or 6% more as compared to the same period last year. The number of petrol-powered cars increased with 7.11% to 1,222,741.
