Prosecutor’s Office to investigate Minister of Culture Boil Banov as well

Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office is to investigate Minister of Culture Boil Banov as well, this country’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said. The investigation is in connection with permits issued by the Ministry of Culture for construction of a skyscraper near a cultural monument. The Supreme Administrative Prosecutor’s Office and the National Construction Control Directorate have been checking since May the legality of the issued permits for construction of the 118-meter-tall ITOWER in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. The National Construction Control Directorate has ordered that the construction of the skyscraper be halted. According to the investors, the building will consist of offices, buildings, shops and a hotel of a world-famous hotel chain.
