Bulgarian prosecutors distance themselves from political turmoil

In a letter addressed to all institutions, the Association of Prosecutors in Bulgaria has objected to the pressure for the resignation of this country’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev and strongly condemned the attempt to involve the Prosecutor’s Office in political skirmish and scandals. “There is an attempt to work the society up against the Prosecutor’s Office, which undermines the independence of the judiciary”, Deputy Prosecutor General Daniela Masheva told BNT.
