The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into crimes against the Republic. In connection with the new investigation, the prosecution published evidence gathered through special intelligence means. They contain conversations between the businessman Vasil Bozhkov, who is hiding in Dubai, and the journalist Ognyan Stefanov, as well as between Bozhkov and the left-wing MP Alexander Paunov. The talks also discussed Bozhkov's political project and the organization and financing of recent protests in Bulgaria. Politicians and oligarchs paying provocateurs to use civic energy is not something new, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev wrote on Twitter.
