Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court declared unconstitutional parts of the Social Services Act. Three articles giving broad rights to social service providers by NGOs to visit serviced persons and receive personal information about them have been repealed by the court. The restriction of the rights of parents when social services are used by minors has also been rejected. 54 MPs from the Bulgarian Socialist Party challenged 45 provisions in the law and the right to delegate part of the social services to private social services providers. The decisions of the Constitutional Court are not subject to comments and will be implemented, Bulgaria’s Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva said.
