In Europe, Bulgarians are the least satisfied with their personal relationships with others. The latest Eurostat data are from 2018 based on the answers how respondents evaluate their relationship with a loved one, a relative or a friend. The EU average is 7.9 points, while in Bulgaria it is 6.6 points.

For Bulgaria, this is an improvement of almost a whole point compared to 2013. For all other countries this figure is between 7 and 8 points.
Bulgarians are also among the Europeans who in 2018 said that they rarely felt happy. Just over 1/3 of respondents shared that they felt happy all the time or most of the time whereas the average happiness rate in Europe is over 60%, Dnevnik reports.
