Today we have a meeting of the coalition council. We have been democratically elected. But when society is divided, those in power can take a step backwards, Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev told Nova TV.
"There is no easy option for us. If we resign, we will disappoint the people who voted for us. On the other hand, there is division. I will not accept to replace the prime minister if he leaves", Donchev explained.
There is also an interim option to resign at the end of September so that parliament can pass laws that will allow the caretaker government to spend the winter, the deputy prime minister said. What will be decided will become clear in the coming days, Donchev added.
