Minutes before 12 noon, a protest began in front of a house belonging to businessman Ivo Prokopiev in the locality Budzhaka near Sozopol on the Black Sea.
The protest is organized by former MEP Nikolay Barekov who claims that the property, built on the rocks, bars public access to the seashore and the magnificent Raiski Zaliv (Paradise Bay). The protest, under the motto “Give Budzhaka back to the people” brought together around 20 protesters who hoisted the national flag on one of the fences which they say bars the way to the rocks.
An investigation by the BNR ascertained that there is a pathway leading to the seashore passing by Ivo Prokopriev’s house. According to Tihomir Yanakiev, mayor of Sozopol, there are three properties which bar access to the seashore but they are in the northern part of the zone.
