73% of people who change jobs in Bulgaria do so because of low salary, indicates a survey of the labour market conducted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BNR’s Natalia Ganchovska reports.
Other important factors in changing jobs are workplace stress, authoritarian management, unfair recognition of the employee’s contribution and ill-treatment by the management.
Staff turnover is highest in the processing industry, construction, the hotel and restaurant sector. The survey was conducted among 2,460 working Bulgarians, 750 employers and business organizations, and 250 job centres.
