The anti-government protests are into their 41st day. The three intersections in the centre of Sofia – at Eagles’ Bridge, in front of Sofia University and in the space between the Council of Ministers and the Presidency – remain blocked by tent camps put up by protesters. Yesterday the protesters changed tactics, unexpectedly blocking some government institution or ministry. Today’s “surprise blockade” is in front of the Central Electoral Commission.

There were no incidents during the night at any of the three protesters’ tent camps, but there was a clash between protesters and the driver of a car at another intersection in Sofia at around 10 PM last night. The car attempted to drive through the temporary blockade at the intersection in front of the Romanian embassy but was stopped by protesters. A call was made to 112 that a family with two small children had been attacked in their car by protesters at Sitnyakovo Boulevard intersection in Sofia. Three people have been detained over this act of aggression.
