A much-loved film festival opens in the Black Sea city of Varna today, 19 August, and will go on until 5 September.
“Open air cinema in the neighbourhood” offers a wide range of short and feature films, to be screened in different locations in the city of Varna – in Boteva Gradina (Botev garden), the neighbourhoods Vuzrazhdane, Vladislavovo, Asparuhovo, Chaika, Tsvetna Gradina, Vinitsa and Briz.
The film marathon features some popular new Bulgarian films, among them – Reunion directed by Niki Iliev, Dose of Happiness by Yana Titova and Alec Alexiev and Rounds by Stephan Komandarev.
The European film titles include the French Taxi 5, Belleville Cop, Who You Think I Am, The Commuter (UK, France), the Italian Hope Springs, and the American Escape Plan 2: Hades.
The screenings begin every night at 8.30 PM with a short film from the kinematograf.bg collection, to be followed by the main film of the evening. Admission is free.
The project is financed by Varna municipality’s “Culture” fund.
