The protest rally headed by BOEC civil movement which blocked the building of Bulgaria’s Anti-corruption Commission on Thursday morning is in violation of the law, the commission points out in a special position.
The Chairman of the Commission for Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Assets Sotir Tsatsarov refused to meet with the protesters because of their peremptory tone.
In response to the accusation of the protesting citizens that dozens of signals of corruption handed in by BOEC have remained unanswered, the anti-corruption commission notes that it has received only 2 signals of corruption regarding senior officials since the beginning of 2020. Bulgaria’s Anticorruption Commission is currently examining one of the signals. The check on the other signal was terminated after BOEC had stated that it was not handed in by them.
