The chairperson of Bulgaria's Central Electoral Commission Stefka Stoeva has announced to commission members her decision to resign for personal reasons. The resignation will be submitted to the National Assembly and it will be voted on next week.
Prior to the decision, Stoeva objected to a proposal to amend the Electoral Code, shifting responsibility for the acquisition of voting machines entirely to the Commission. Stoeva continues to believe that the purchase of voting machines should be done by the state, BNR reports.
