No one has ever attempted to use me to exert political influence on the public radio broadcaster, Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio Andon Baltakov said during the Career Hive fair in Sofia. Andon Baltakov categorically said that he would work towards improving Bulgaria’s positions in global freedom of speech rankings and that he would make public any attempt to influence the BNR.

BNR is not a state agency. I have told this to my colleagues. We neither ask, nor beg for money. The Bulgarian society needs an independent public radio organization and my goal is to do it, BNR Director General Baltakov said further.

Andon Baltakov called on the young people at the career fair not to view their return to Bulgaria as a step back.
