Last night’s rain in Sofia brought fewer people to the protest demanding the resignation of the government and the prosecutor general on the 80th day of protests.

“There may be five of us in the square today, but tomorrow there will be 100,000 of us, and that is their mistake,” Arman Babikyan from the “toxic trio” said, addressing the crowd.

“A break with reality,” – that is how the speakers commented the words of National Assembly President Tsveta Karayancheva that the people from the square should walk and not use the underground since they are protesting against the prime minister. “The powers that be are living in their own reality in which Boyko Borissov is the beginning, and the end,” one of the speakers said. The speakers at the protest also expressed their approval of President Rumen Radev for his refusal to negotiate with the prime minister.

At the protest it became clear that Vladimir Genov has been on hunger strike for 14 days at the tent camp in the centre of Sofia. The man went on hunger strike at the beginning of the protests but was taken to hospital when his health deteriorated. Now he is again in very serious condition and the protesters are demanding the intervention of the Ombudsman. Vladimir Genov says he will not eat until Boyko Borissov hands in his resignation.
