Bulgarian Parliament refuses to hear Prime Minister Borissov on new F-16s

The majority in parliament has rejected the BSP's request for a hearing in plenary today of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov. Last week, the Bulgarian Socialists asked the two to provide information to parliament about the government's intention to acquire eight more F-16 Block 70 aircraft.
Even if the proposal was accepted, it could not be implemented, as Defence Minister Karakachanov is now visiting the United States.
