At the moment Bulgaria does not risk losing EU funds, this country’s Deputy Premier Tomislav Donchev has assured in response to a question whether the European Union may suspend funding due to Bulgaria’s image.

At a forum on digital and green transformation organized by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, Tomislav Donchev has assured that funding cannot be limited or stopped due to a political scandal.

“At the moment Bulgaria’s control system is working quite well”, Deputy Premier Donchev said. He pointed out that on the basis of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, which is yet to be prepared, Bulgaria will receive funding to the tune of EUR 6.2 billion which equals 10% of this country’s gross domestic product.
