Bulgaria’s authorities are preparing new regulations related to food deliveries. Representatives of the sector voiced hopes that this move would reduce the number of businesses in the gray sector, BNR reporter Natalia Ganchovska informs.
Food deliveries gained popularity in Bulgaria in recent years and accounted for 6% of the business of the catering establishments before the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Covid-19 crisis gave a strong boost to this service, especially during the weeks of social isolation. According to the Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Catering Establishments Richard Alibegov, this type of service marked 15% increase, but some companies who do not meet the rules in this segment entered the market in their attempt to continue operating.
