Bulgarian President bestows state awards to distinguished Bulgarians in culture and medicine

On October 23, President Rumen Radev presented state awards to prominent Bulgarians in the spheres of culture and medicine, the press office of the Bulgarian head of state announced.

Folklore studies professor Elena Kuteva-Tapkova, film director Maya Vaptsarova and folk singer Tatiana Serbinska received the Order of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. 

A state distinction has also been given to Prof. Dr. Atanas Shterev and Prof. Dr. Krassimir Ivanov for their contribution to the development of medical science and medical education in Bulgaria.

Orders "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" first degree have been bestowed also to journalist and traveller Simeon Idakiev and to Vanya Grashkina-Mincheva who is the founder of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association.

The chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross Hristo Grigorov has been awarded with the Order of Civil Merit - first degree.
