Strong earthquake in Aegean Sea felt in Bulgaria as well

Shortly before 2 pm, an earthquake was felt in Sofia, as well as in other Bulgarian cities, including Ruse and Varna. The quake was also reported in Turkey and Greece, local and international observatories report.

According to Greek sources and the US Geological Survey, the magnitude was about 7 on the Richter scale

The US Geological Survey said the depth was 10 km and the epicentre was 33.5 km off Turkey's southwest coast, near Izmir and the Dodecanese, a group of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. 

No casualties have been reported so far but severe damage has been reported.
