In recent years, Burgas has become an energy efficient city implementing the most up-to-date approaches and measures. The local authorities have implemented measures aimed at renovating residential buildings and putting energy saving street lighting installations in operation. Burgas has made the first steps to promote the use of electric vehicles that can be charged for free. The coastal city is to receive 56 new electric buses.
