“Bulgaria was affected by coronavirus most during the second quarter when a 8.5% drop in the GDP was registered, but we quickly managed to make up for that,” said Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov in an interview for BNT.
In his words during that second quarter Bulgaria performed very well compared to the EU member countries. “We are among the one-quarter of countries with the smallest decline. Compared to the European average we are doing better by about 5-6%,” Minister Borisov commented and pointed out that the government measures are already having an effect. He described the 2021 state budget as rational, as it touches each one of the factors of economic growth.
